Makebi Zulu
The Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) has summoned Lawyer Makebi Zulu to answer charges of alleged professional misconduct.
Mr. Zulu who is also Eastern Province Minister has confirmed being in receipt of the summon asking him to appear before the LAZ’s Legal Practitioners’ Committee next week.
He has told QTV News that the allegations are that he flouted rule 17, 6 and 5 of the legal practitioner rules when he recently made a comment in the media on a legal subject.
Mr. Zulu of the law firm Makebi Zulu Advocates has however stated that he does not understand whether he flouted these rules as a member of LAZ or as a politician.
He states that to this effect, he has written to LAZ seeking clarification in which capacity he flouted the said rules before he could respond to the allegations leveled against him.
