Nkana promotes juniors to first team

Nkana have promoted two players from their junior team that coach Zeddy Saileti has added to his side’s eight-day pre-season camp away in Livingstone.

The duo is goalkeeper William Mtonga and midfielder Golden Mulowa, travelled with the record 12-time Zambian champions on Sunday.

Mtonga and Mulowa are some of the six new faces on the 29-member teams’ trip to Zambia’s tourist capital.

Nkana new signings also on the trip include defender Aaron Katebe and midfielder Sam Chilupe, who joined from Zanaco and Nakambala Leopards respectively.

Others are ex-Nakambala goalkeeper Moses Mapulanga and former Forest Rangers midfielder Innocent Mwaba.

Saileti will also get to look at two trialists, both midfielders, during the trip and they are Lucky Bwalya from Young Buffaloes and Yannick Mulenda from DR Congo club Don Bosco.

Striker Ronald Chibwe, who spent last season on loan at Forest, is also part of the travelling party while defender Kapota Kayawe is back after missing the entire 2016 campaign due to injury.

Nkana will be in Livingstone from February 19 until February 27.
