Academician Lawrence Mwelwa is concerned that some educated politicians in Zambia have continued to deliberately say and do wrong things for the sake of gaining political mileage.
Dr. Mwelwa who is Chreso University Vice Chancellor says it is also common to see political leaders get upset when people remind them of what they promised during campaigns .
He is suggesting that politicians must stop surrounding themselves with people with selfish interests but surround themselves with realistic people who will help them act on their promises.
Dr. Mwelwa notes that many great leaders have fallen not because they are bad or ineffective but because of the people they are surrounded with.
He says if politicians want to succeed, they should mind who surrounds them and the sort of advice they get from the people surrounding them.
