The Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) and the Ministry of General Education have cautioned Parents and guardians to ensure that pupils use appropriate modes of transport as schools open on Monday 5th September 2016.

In a joint statement signed by RTSA Head of Public Relations Fredrick Mubanga and Ministry of General Education Spokesperson Hilary Chipango, parents and guardians are urged to ensure that pupils do not use trucks or open vans as such kind of vehicles compromise the safety of pupils.

The statement is also cautioning all Pubic Service Vehicle drivers to observe appropriate speed limits to avoid any road traffic crashes during and after this period.

And Mr. Mubanga says RTSA will equally be on alert to ensure that PSV drivers do not contravene the traffic laws by overloading and over speeding.

The Agency has called on Pupils and the traveling public to report PSV drivers  flouting road traffic rules and  regulation by calling the RTSA toll free line 983 or send a message to the WhatsApp line 0965 429499.
