Lungu to gazette Lupososhi as a District

President Edgar Lungu has assured the people of Lupososhi constituency that the area will be gazetted as a district after the elections which he says he is confident of winning.

President Lungu says Lupososhi will be a fully fledged district by January, 2017.

Speaking when addressing a public rally at Mumba area in Lupososhi constituency in Luwingu district today, President Lungu observed that Lupososhi is more central hence the need to turn it into a district.

He has since urged the people of Lupososhi constituency to give him a five-year fresh mandate so that he implements developmental projects not only in Luwingu district but the country as a whole.

President Lungu implored the people of Lupososhi to vote for him and all candidates contesting on the ruling PF ticket.

And President Lungu has reiterated his government commitment to empowering women in the country.

He says the appointment of Inonge Wins as republican Vice President and also running mate is a clear demonstration that women are partners in national development.

And Speaking at the same rally, Health Deputy Minister Dr. Chitalu Chilufya disclosed that government is constructing a modern ultra hospital that would cater for the people of Luwingu and Chilubi districts.

meanwhile six Chiefs in Luwingu district in Northern Province have commended the Patriotic Front government for the road infrastructure projects being undertaken in the province.

Speaking on behalf of the other chiefs when they met President Edgar Lungu, Chieftainess Chungu says a good road network attracts investment.

She says there is no need to remove the PF government from power because of its track record.

And Chieftainess Chungu has appealed to President Lungu to declare Lupososhi a district.

And President Lungu says government intends to turn Lupososhi into a district.

President Lungu says he has heard the cry of the people at the grassroots for services to be brought closer to them through decentralization.
