Kitwe District Commissioner Chanda Kabwe is happy with the distribution of fertilizer in the district by Nyiombo Investments who have so far delivered 5,469 by 50 kilogrammes bags of urea.
Mr Kabwe has however; urged Nyiombo Investments to speed up the process so that all the farmers in Kitwe can access the fertilizer on time.
He says the Patriotic Front Government is committed to ensuring that small and medium scale farmers are catered for especially by delivering farming inputs to them on time.
He adds that President Edgar Lungu is determined to ensure that agriculture at the grassroot level is enhanced in order for Zambia to become a household name in the agriculture sector in Southern Africa.
Mr. Kabwe has since appealed to farmers in the district to exercise patience saying all farming inputs will be delivered by the end of this month.
He has further cautioned farmers to be wary of briefcase businessmen who want to swindle them of their fertilizer.
