Chama urges women to show more interest in politics

Women have been urged to show more interest in politics to boost female representation in politics and governance.

Patriotic Front Secretary General Davies Chama has observed that women have all the qualities of leadership and that the only thing they need to do is to step into the political arena.

Mr. Chama has urged Women organizations to encourage women participation in politics.

He says the Patriotic Front is ready to adopt more women to contest as parliamentary and local government levels.

Mr. Chama notes that despite efforts to get more women into politics, the number still remains low.

He states that Women Organizations have a critical role to play to encourage more women to get into politics and leadership positions.
