Hunger is said to have hit some parts of Senanga District in Western Province due to poor rains experienced in most parts of the country during the 2014/15 farming season.

Senanga Member of Parliament Likando Mufalali has told QFM News that if government through the office of the Vice President delays in coming to the aid of the people, people may starve to death.

Mr. Mufalali says the hunger situation forcing people to run to every truck they see passing along the road thinking it is relief food that has been brought.

He says the 100 bags of relief food supplied by the government to the area were not enough to for all people to have food in their homes.

Mr. Mufalali says he has engaged Republican Vice President Inonge Wina to consider supplying more relief food to the affected people in the district.
