Saunders cautions PF

Political Activist Dante Saunders has cautioned the ruling PF that it’s stay in power beyond 2016 lies in how they manage the current social and economic challenges in the country.

And Mr. Saunders says having a new constitution under the ruling Patriotic Front is a doubt considering that four years has elapsed without anything tangible being achieved with regards the constitution making process.

He says it is not possible for the PF to give Zambians a new constitution in the remaining one year which they have failed to do in the four years.

Mr. Saunders says Zambians who still hope of a new constitution under the PF will do well to forget about it as the ruling party lacks genuine commitment to the process.

He has warned the PF that the constitution making process could work in the 2016 elections.

But Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) President Andrew Nthewewe says his organization is still optimistic that the PF government will give Zambians a new constitution.

Mr. Nthewewe says the move by the government to hold the constitutional referendum alongside the 2016 elections is testimony enough that there is still hope for new a constitution.
