Civil rights activist Brebner Changala has advised people in the country not to use innuendoes when giving counsel to President Edgar Lungu.

Mr. Changala says it is impossible for President Lungu to listen to advice when people giving such advice are at the same time pouring scorn on him.

In an interview with Qfm News Mr. Changala has observed that President Lungu is currently receiving counsel from stakeholders at the time that hate speech is thriving in Zambia.

Mr. Changala says the sense he is getting from such hate speech gives him an impression that they are some people who want President Lungu to fail or preferably leave office as early as yesterday.

He has advised that given how difficult it is for anyone to operate well in such an environment, what the President ought to do is to be tactful in defusing such hate speech in the country.

Mr. Changala has since called on the Head of State to engage opposition leaders most of whom he says understand the current economic situation in Zambia.

He says there is also need for President Lungu to equally meet with economic players on the same issue of the challenges facing the country’s economy.
