ZCSD forewarns, Zambia risk turning into a political State

The Zambia Council for Social Development (ZCSD) has forewarned that Zambia risks being created into a political state if its political environment continues to be turbulent.

The ZCSD fears that if this happens it will mean that the intelligence of the country’s well educated civil servants will not count.

Executive Director Lewis Mwape says what will however count is what politicians will be saying.

Mr. Mwape has told Qfm News in an interview that his organization anticipates that the consequences for this will be poverty being on the rise inn Zambia.

He explained that this is because the people of Zambia will have investigated their time in political leaders who will be bound to protecting their stay in power.

The ZCSD Executive Director states his organization therefore has seen the need for the country to have politicians who will reverse the current trend where development is competing with politics.

He says this entails that the country needs to start entrenching development in its legal systems.

Mr. Mwape says the ZCSD is proposing a legal framework that will ensure that power rest in the people and not in the hands of politicians.

He says this is mainly that presently Zambia does not seem to have selfless political leaders that are able to work for the people.
