Youths fail to apply for 2015 YEF

Youth and Sport Deputy Minister Ronald Chitotela has bemoaned the small number of youths who have applied for the K29 million 2015 Youth Empowerment Fund (YEF).

Mr. Chitotela has told Qfm news in an interview that young people regardless of where they are coming from should not be afraid to apply for the funds which are meant to empower them.

He says youths should not listen to those telling them lies that the youth empowerment fund is political and cannot be easily accessed.

Mr. Chitotela states that youths should between now and August apply for the funds because government intends to dispense the funds next month.

Mr. Chitotela adds that this is an opportunity for young people to create jobs for themselves and help in reducing poverty in the country.
