Action Aid Zambia says there is no need for Government to investigate the cause of the damage to machinery at Indeni Oil refinery because government already knows what has caused damage to key installations.

Action Aid Country Director Pamela Chisanga says government should state the long and short term implications the damage will have on the country.

Ms Chisanga has also challenged governments to tell the nation the cost of damage caused and who will pay for the damage caused by the wrong crude oil purchased by government.

She has cautioned government against taking tax payers for granted.

Ms. Chisanga states that government has the responsibility to show leadership and adhere to high levels of transparency in the procurement of crude oil.
