Performance of Lunzua Hydro power station cheers Govt

Government is impressed with the electricity supply being generated from the upgraded Lunzua Hydro–power station in Mpulungu District of Northern province.

Northern Province Minister Freedom Sikazwe says the power station is now supplying electricity to Kasama, Mpulungu, Mbala, Nsumbu and Sumbawanga areas unlike previously when it only supplied Mpulungu, Nsumbu and Mbala.

Mr. Sikazwe adds that the people of Northern Province were subjected to low voltage before the upgrade of the power station a situation which has since changed.

He explains that there was erratic electricity supply in the province before the upgrade to an extent where it was almost impossible for the people to use any electrical appliances because of low voltage.

Mr. Sikazwe states that the people of Northern Province now have electricity as any other part of the country.
