EYAI explains why opposition in Zambia is not taken seriously

The Evangelical Youth Alliance International (EYAI) says people are finding it difficult to take opposition political parties seriously because of the way they are conducting themselves.

EYAI Executive Director Moses Lungu in a statement says the opposition should know that it is through their conduct that the people will determine their seriousness and their value in a political dispensation.

EYAI Executive Director Moses Lungu Reverend Lungu has advised the opposition to adopt a strategy of being relevant to the country’s political dispensation by being factual on matters of national interest.

He says the move by some opposition political parties to condemn President Edgar Lungu for pardoning musician General Kanene is a sign that they have nothing to contribute in the development of the country.

Reverend Lungu says it is clear in the minds of many Zambians that the opposition political parties are not being sincere in most instances, accusing them of playing double standards.

Reverend Lungu has since called on the opposition to provide quality checks and balances to the government if the people are to take them seriously.
