Govt to auction seized Mukula logs

Government says it is working out logistics to auction thousands of seized Mukula tree logs.

Lands deputy Minister Davies Mwango says his ministry has been inspecting all the seized Mukula tree logs in various parts of the country with the view of either exporting the logs or auctioning them.

He says most of the intercepted Mukula logs are being marooned at boarder areas.

Mr. Mwango adds that government is also carefully looking at strategies that will help curb the illegal trade in Mukula tree.
