Govt boasts of health sector successes

Chief Government Spokesperson Chishimba Kambwili says PF Government has scored a number of successes in the health sector since coming to power in 2011 contrary to assertions by some opposition leaders that it has failed to manage the sector.

Mr Kambwili says the PF Government can boast of turning around the health sector during the close to 4 years it has been in power.

Mr. Kambwili points out that the PF Government has managed to equip provincial hospitals with necessary medical equipment such as the Computed Tomography Machines CT scanners.

He says this what the previous regimes failed to do.

Mr. Kambwili states that the installation of CT scanners in provincial hospitals has resulted in patients not being required to travel to Lusaka for scanning at the University Teaching Hospital.

He adds that government is also working tirelessly to ensure the procurement of drugs is done timely to avoid any drug shortages in hospitals.

Mr Kambwili states that government under the leadership of President Edgar Lungu will continue to work hard and provide the best healthcare to the Zambian people
