Nawakwi says the Health sector needs particular attention

Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) president Edith Nawakwi has implored government to pay particular attention to the health sector.

Ms. Nawakwi laments that that government has been making mere pronouncements with regards proper healthcare delivery in the country, when the situation in health centres especially in rural areas is something else.

Ms. Nawakwi says the health sector is an important sector which should be given the best attention at all costs because it takes care of people’s lives.

She states that the ministry of Finance has a huge responsibility to play in ensuring that health facilities across the country receive all the necessary requirements for them to run effectively.

Ms. Nawakwi adds that there is need for government to give a clear direction on how it intends to run the pronounced six hundred and fifty health posts to be constructed across the country.

She notes that Zambians can only have quality healthcare services if there are enough drugs and health personnel in clinics hospitals and not merely having structures without personnel to run them.
