ZISC retrenchees cry for Lungu’s intervention to claim dues

Aggrieved Zambia State Insurance Corporation (ZISC) retrenchees have appealed to President Edgar Lungu to intervene on their behalf in claiming the balance of their terminal benefits.

Representative of the ZISC retrenches Marko Phiri says despite being retrenched in 1991, they are concerned that up to now they have not received their full benefits despite the Supreme Court ruling in their favor.

Mr. Phiri has wondered how an old man of his age can continue to be trekking to ZISC offices to push for his money when he should be farming at his home village.

He adds that it is unreasonable at his age to beg in the streets for money when he together with other former ZSIC employees are still being owed money.

Mr. Phiri has told Qfm News in a walk-in interview that it is therefore his appeal to President Lungu being the father of the nation to come to the aid of the underpaid ZISC retrenchees.
