UPND SG Chibwe is alive – HH

The United Party for National Development (UPND) has dismissed reports suggesting that its Secretary General, Winston Chibwe has died.

UPND President Hakainde Hichilema has told QFM News via telephone that reports suggesting that he has confirmed the passing on of Mr. Chibwe are misleading and should not be taken seriously, because the UPND Chief Executive Officer is alive

Mr. Hichilema has denied speaking to any journalist confirming the death of Mr. Chibwe.

He has further denied issuing any statement stating that even Mr Chibwe’s family members have confirmed his passing.
Mr. Hichilema has since appealed for calm from friends, family members and party members.

And UPND Deputy Spokesperson Edwin Lifwekelo has confirmed to QFM News in a separate phone interview that he spoke to Mr. Chibwe this morning about reports suggesting that he had died.
