PDP president George Mpombo
Opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president George Mpombo has hailed the level of development taking place in Chief Chiwala’s area of Masaiti District.
Dr. Mpombo says the development taking place in the area following the establishment of Dangote Lime and Cement Company has now surpassed that of Mpongwe District.
He has told Qfm News that the development taking place in the area has also resulted in increased employment opportunities for the local people who are being employed by Dangote in addition to the employment opportunities the Nickel Lime Mine has created.
Dr. Mpombo however, notes that what has been of concern to him and the people of Masaiti District is the poor road network.
He has reiterated the need for government to quickly look in the issue of roads as they remain a source of concern.
Dr. Mpombo notes that the effort that Dangote Lime and Cement Company is doing by settling dust on Chiwala ring road, for example, is not good enough.
He says government should supplement the development taking place in Masaiti district with a proper road network.
