Chilufya warns health works against being selective to patients

Health Deputy Minister Chitalu Chilufya has warned health workers against being selective in attending to patients regardless of their age or status in society.

Commenting on reports emanating from Siavonga district suggesting that some young pregnant girls are being denied access to antenatal care by some health personnel, Dr. Chilufya says it is unacceptable for health workers to be that bad hearted.

Dr. Chilufya says all patients should be given the same care and attention they deserve at all times.

He wonders why only the girls should be denied access to the services which are free and they are entitled to get at anytime.

Dr Chilufya has since stated that he will engage the relevant authorities to investigate the matter.
