TIZ welcomes dissolution of NYDC board

Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) has welcomed the dissolution of the National Youth Development Council (NYDC) board by government.

The TIZ believe this action saves the on-going alleged wastage of public in the country.

TIZ Information Officer Charles Emmanuel Chulu has told Qfm News in statement that in welcoming this development, his organization is also announcing its intention to continue pressing for action to prevent wastage of public funds and corruption in the public sector.

Mr. Chulu states that his organization fully agrees with Youth and Sport Minister Vincent Mwale to fully investigate all the allegations including those raised by the former NYDC chairperson Dr. Saviour Chishimba.

He says the TIZ want to also send a clear warning and strong advice to all Permanent Secretaries who are controlling officers that it shall not hesitate in calling for their dismissals when it gathers enough evidence that they are failing to protect public funds.

And Mr. Chulu disclosed that the TIZ has also stood down for now its campaign to have Youth and Sport Agness Musunga dismissed.

He says this is because his organization has taken note that the permanent secretary at Youth and Sport Agness Musunga complied with its demand as she wrote to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) within ITS 72hours ultimatum as TIZ has now detected the full documentation.

Mr. Chulu has since appealed to the ACC to conclude the investigations in record time as TIZ had full Knowledge that they initiated this investigation in September 2014 upon receiving a dossier from TIZ.
