Normalcy returns on Zambia- Congo pedicle road

Normalcy has returned on the 70 kilometers stretch of the pedicle road passing through the Democratic Republic of Congo where Zambian motorists were stranded after failing to pay 50 United States dollars fee introduced by the Congolese authorities for them to be allowed passage through that country into Luapula province.

Copperbelt Deputy Permanent Secretary Elias Kamanga who held a meeting with Congolese Government officials over the issue has told Qfm news that Zambians are no longer being charged following the fruitful discussions.

Mr. Kamanga says matters that lead to the introduction of the charges will be subjected to continuous discussion by the two governments until an amicable solution is arrived at which will be in favour of both countries.

He has since appealed to motorists to feel free using the pedicle road.

Mr Kamanga has further commended the Congolese government for agreeing to resolve the matter amicably without further inconveniencing the motorists.
