Prison Service calls for concerted efforts in improving standards in prisons

The Zambia Prisons Service has called for concerted efforts in improving the standards of prisoners in the country.

Zambia Prisons Director of Health Services Chileshe Chisela says the prisons service has been trying its level best to ensure that inmates are given the attention they deserve.

Dr. Chisela explains that accommodation has however remained a great challenge despite the opening of modern prison facilities in Mwembeshi, Kasama and Mongu.

He notes that what is needed most is from well wishers and other cooperate organizations is to come on board and help in any way they can.
