Zambians encouraged to know their rights

Hope for Human Rights Executive Director Smart Chanda has encouraged Zambians to know and understand their rights.

Mr. Chanda notes that the challenge in Zambia is that very few people take their time to research on human rights and that all they know is that they are entitled to their rights without understanding their right in depth.

Mr. Chanda adds that people ignorantly abuse their rights and other people’s rights by not knowing their limits.

He adds that much as people enjoy their rights, there is also need to respect other people’s rights if peace has to be maintained in the country.

Mr. Chanda states that currently there are so many cases of violence and people differing with one another because they do not know how to apply their rights.
