ZCID supports review of Public Order Act

The Zambia Centre for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID) observed that Public Order Act should be reviewed because in its current form it can be easily abused by those in Authority.

ZCID Executive Director Horrance Chilando says this is because presently the implementation of ACT can be justified by the Police without being questioned.

Mr. Chilando says it is for this reason why stakeholders should not relent at submitting their views to government on how the legislation ought to be implemented.

He says modern time dictates that such legislation does not become a source of contention especially in countries founded on the tents of Democracy.
