DEC arrests 28yr old Lusaka cocaine trafficker

The Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) in Lusaka has arrested a 28 year old man of John Laing Compound for trafficking in cocaine.

Elvis Jombo, 28, a Mechanic of John Laing Compound in Lusaka has been arrested for being in possession of four (04) rocks of cocaine.

Meanwhile the Commission in the last three (03) days has arrested fifty (50) Peasant farmers countrywide for unlawful cultivation and trafficking in various quantities of cannabis.

Those arrested include Davison Mweetwa Samboka, 57, of Lwambi village in Kalomo District for unlawful cultivation of fresh cannabis plants weighing 1.046 tonnes and Beauty Mweetwa, 50, of the same abode for trafficking in loose cannabis weighing 3.4kg.

Others arrested and jointly charged are Joseph Mwape, 55, of Eneya village in Mpika District and his wife, Espina Chiusuya, 55, of the same abode for unlawful cultivation of fresh cannabis plants weighing 756kg, Shadreck Kamfushi, 33, of Shamabanse are in Mumbwa District for unlawful cultivation of fresh cannabis plants weighing 46.8kg and Abuty Siwale, 36, of Katondo Compound in Kabwe for trafficking in 5.2kg of loose cannabis.

And in North-Western Province, the Commission has arrested Moses Sichilinda, 39, of Kengi area in Kabompo District for unlawful cultivation of fresh cannabis plants weighing 380kg.

All suspects will appear in court soon.

And the Commission has particularly cautioned peasant farmers to desist from engaging in unlawful cultivation and trafficking in cannabis.
