CCPC handles 916 cases this year

The Competition and Consumers Protection Commission (CCPC) says it has this year recorded about nine hundred and sixteen cases of consumer related complaints.

Speaking during a recent Media Workshop in Siavonga, CCPC Executive Director Chilufya Sampa says from January to date the commission has recorded twenty merger cases.

Mr. Sampa says all the cases cited are the ones that were reported to the commission and were thoroughly investigated.

Mr. Sampa states that some cases reported to the commission were not worth investigating.

He says four cartel cases have been reported and are currently under investigations.

The CCPC Executive Director reveals that three cases of restrictive business practices are currently being investigated by the Commission.
