President Lungu leaves for Ethiopia

President Lungu on board ChopperPresident Edgar Lungu has left for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to attend the African Union summit, his first international trip since taking office on 25th January.

President Lungu left at 08:53 hours this morning aboard the presidential Challenger jet accompanied by First Lady Esther Lungu.

The President was seen off by Vice President Inonge Wina, Ministers and other senior government and PF officials.

Mr Lungu is tomorrow expected to address the African Union Assembly.

He is also expected to hold bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the African Union summit.

The President is expected to return home on Sunday 1st February, 2015.

The Head of State has designated his authority to Vice-President, Inonge Wina to discharge the functions of the office of President from Thursday, 29th January to Sunday 1st February, 2015, the period he will be attending the African Union summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
