Lungu inaugural address, practical – Zambian Voice

The Zambian Voice has described as practical President Edgar Lungu’s inaugural address to the nation.

The Zambian Voice thinks President Lungu’s inaugural speech after his being sworn in as the Zambia’s sixth President speaks to the reality in which the Zambian people are living in.

Executive Director Chilufya Tayali says he is of the view President Lungu’s inaugural speech is on point in addressing Zambia’s economic and social challenges.

Mr. Tayali however notes that Mr. Lungu must get to work as he suggested, there is no honey for him now that he has been sworn in, and actually address the challenges the country is faced with.

In an interview with Qfm News Mr. Tayali has observed that much as he has set in motion his resolve to enact Zambia’s new constitution by his immediate appointing of constitutional lawyer Ngosa Simbyakula as the new Justice Minister, President Lungu must ensure that the country has a substantive good supreme law.

He says the new supreme law his organization is referring to must be one that stands the test of time.

The Zambian Voice Executive Director states that the country’s new constitution must also be one that addresses the inadequacies in the current constitution.

He adds the new constitution must further reduce the powers of the country’s Head of State in order that its democracy can be inspiring role model to other countries in the region.
