The Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) says the successful operation on the Siamese twins by surgeons at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) last week is an indication that the country has competent doctors.
HPCZ public relations officer Terry Musonda says the council is proud of all the surgeons who took part in conducting the operation on the conjoined twins
Mr Musonda says the success of the operation goes to show that Zambia has good doctors capable of carrying out medical operations.
He says the successful separation of Bupe and Mapalo last Friday is a medical breakthrough.
