Stakeholders claiming that President Edgar Lungu breached the constitution by nominating Mulenga Sata as a Member of Parliament have been encouraged to consult legal minds over the matter.

Governance Activist Maurice Malambo has told QFM News in a walk in interview that people ought to read widely before making statements that may leave them and their organization in question.

Mr. Malambo has advised stakeholders claiming that the Head of State breached the law to understand the history of that law saying it was introduced by late President Fredrick Chiluba to bar certain individuals from being appointed in cabinet positions.

He explains that Mulenga Sata was not a loosing parliamentary candidate for him not to qualify to be nominated as a Member of Parliament.

He says there is need for the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) to give their position over this matter before it is brown out of proportion.

And Mr. Malambo says it is up to the moral conscience of Mr. Sata to either step down as Kabulonga Ward Councillor considering that there is no law that compels him to step down since he was nominated as a parliamentarian.
