The basketball star – who was married to Kim for 72 days in 2011 – took to the social media site just hours after Bruce admitted to becoming a woman in a powerful and emotive interview.
He wrote: “Man, I am glad I got out when I did #Gottadoyou.”
His tweet was met with hundreds of outraged replies, with one Bruce fan writing: “You’re garbage.”
While another added: “Absolutely disgusting thing to say.”
However, clearly upset with the reaction to his post, the NBC star later added: “I have and always will support Bruce hence #Gottadoyou. Now recognise I was too vague and sincerely apologise for the way it came across.”
Adding: “#FullySupportBruce.”
During the Dian Sawyer interview that aired on US television last night, Kylie Jenner‘s dad admitted he was becoming a woman, and had felt this way for a long time.
He said: ““Yes, for all intents and purposes, I’m a woman. I have the soul of a female and my brain in much more female than it is male, as of now I have all the male parts.”
He added: “My whole life has been getting me ready for this. I’m really excited about the future, about what good I could do in the world. It’s going to be an emotional rollercoaster, but somehow I’m gonna get through it… I feel like I’m going to be OK. 2015 is going to be quite a ride… Quite a ride.”
