President Edgar Lungu says there is nothing sinister about the resignation of acting Auditor General Ron Mwambwa because prior to his resignation, he had a formal discussion with him on the matter.

President Lungu says during the meeting, Mr Mwambwa indicated to him that he was tendering his resignation because he needed to pursue his personal endeavours in Liberia where he would set up auditing systems for that country.

He says he did not resist to Mr Mwambwa’s resignation because going to Liberia meant that Mr Mwambwa would be Zambia’s flag bearer in that country and there was nothing wrong.

The President has since expressed concern at the growing culture of some sections of the Zambian society who have resorted to politicizing everything on baseless grounds t gain political mileage.

This is contained in a statement issued to Q-News by State House Chief Analyst press and public relations Cecilia Mulenga.
