Secretary to the Cabinet Dr. Roland Msiska has called for smart ideas from public servants in order for the country to develop and the 7th national development plan to be actualized.

Dr. Msiska says the difference between Zambia and the developing world is not because the country does not have money, but because the country lacks smart ideas.

Officiating at the certificate award ceremony for 118 senior government officials hosted by Cavendish University Zambia in Lusaka, Dr Msiska says a smart and value centered public service is a critical vehicle for delivering on the vision 2030.

He says if the public service fails to have clarity of what needs to be done for development, then there is very little hope for the attainment of the national aspirations.

He reminded the government officers that the public service is responsible to the people of Zambia and the government of the day to deliver on their policies and programs within the mandated time.

He has since stated that the training the officers have received has equipped them to provide a better service through periodic reviews of their work to help them identify and manage risks.

And Cavendish university vice chancellor professor Mutale Musonda said the 118 participants have benefitted from the university’s innovative student-centered academic model that will help them be efficient and effective in service delivery of communication skills and project management.
