Zambia’s staggering poverty levels worries CSPR

The Civil Society for Poverty Reduction (CSPR) says there is need for the nation to come up with strategic policies that will help in reducing the high poverty levels.

CSPR Executive Director, Patrick Nshindano says Zambia’s staggering poverty levels are worrying.

Mr. Nshindano told Q News that in as much as the government has come up with social programmes such as the Social Cash Transfer, it is important that the most vulnerable and poor people in the country are reached if poverty levels are to reduce.

He says the nation has potential to eradicate poverty provided the right people are reached through social programmes.
