President Edgar Lungu has been advised to take responsibility and break the cycle where the legacies of Zambia’s Heads of State are rubbished once they leave office.

MMD Felix Mutati led faction National Secretary, Raphael Nakachinda says President Lungu has a duty to end this cycle by correcting the bad precedent.

Mr. Nakachinda says President Lungu should start by honoring former Republic President Frederick Chiluba who died 7 years.

Speaking during Dr. Chiluba’s Memorial service in Lusaka, Mr. Nakachinda says President Lungu should summon courage and ensure that all property and the dignity Dr. Chiluba was stripped of when he left office is returned even in his death.

He says the MMD believes that President Lungu has enough powers to ensure that the late former President is honored.

And former Republican Vice President who served under Dr. Chiluba, Enock Kavindele has urged President Lungu to effect the Court judgment that cleared Dr. Chiluba of wrong doing.

Mr. Kavindele says having worked under Dr. Chiluba, he knows that the late former Republican President did not steal any money belonging to the State when served as President.

He says Dr. Chiluba did not therefore deserve the treatment he was given after leaving office.
