Government has declared the 2017-2018 Cholera outbreak that lasted eight months and claimed 114 lives officially over.

And a total of 162 million kwacha was spent to curb the cholera outbreak in the country.

Minister of Health, Dr. Chitalu Chilufya says the declaration is in line with the national health regulation that requires that a consecutive 14-days period pass without recording any new cholera case.

Dr. Chilufya says Statutory Instruments No. 79 of 2017 issued under the Public Health Act and No. 10 of 2018 on street vending regulations however still remain in force.
