Govt urged to prioritize Agriculture in economic and developmental agenda

Government has been called upon to prioritize Agriculture in its economic and developmental agenda.

MMD National Secretary Raphael Nakachinda is urging government through the Ministry of Finance to set aside enough resources for investment in the Agriculture sector.

Mr. Nakachinda says the Agriculture sector will never develop if government to continues to make pronouncement of how to grow the sector for the purposes of rhetoric.

In an interview with QTV News Mr. Nakachinda states that funding the Agriculture sector adequately should entail prompt and efficient implementation of the polices in the sector.

Mr. Nakachinda says this should include activation of the laid out systems for the delivery of farming inputs to farmers under the Farmers Input Support Programme (FISP) on time.
