Green Party President Peter Sinkamba has come to the defence of the Financial Intelligence Centre for making public its 2017 report which has revealed that Zambia lost K4.5 billion through financial crimes.

Mr Sinkamba says it is unfortunate that FIC Director General Mary Tshuma has come under attack from some stakeholders who feel she erred by making the report public.

He says the centre has done nothing wrong by making public their findings, adding that this is not the first time such a report has been made public by the centre.

He has since called on the Anti Money Laundering Investigations Unit under the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) to investigate cases cited in the FIC report.

Mr. Sinkamba says those who will be found wanting should face the full wrath of the law.
