In a statement issued to Q-News, ZEMA Director General John Msimuko notes with gratitude the motivating speech delivered by the President at the official opening of the 2018 Copperbelt Mining, Agricultural, Industrial, Networking and Enterprise (CAMINEX) Expo in Kitwe.

Mr. Msimuko is particularly pleased with President Lungu for calling on the private sector to adopt smart business models and realign their businesses so as to operate in an environmentally sustainable manner and adopt strategies that promote cleaner production and waste minimization.

He says in line with the Presidential commitment, ZEMA will continue to work with other regulatory agencies in attaining the common goal of protecting human health and the environment.

Mr. Msimuko has since urged all industries to respond to the Presidential commitment and directive by ensuring adherence to the Constitution of Zambia as amended by Act No. 2 of 2016 and the Environmental Management Act No. 12 of 2011 as well as all other relevant laws in Zambia.

He notes that this will further greatly contribute to the Make Zambia Clean, Green and Healthy Campaign.
