The Zambia Correctional Service has cautioned members of the public to be weary of individuals purporting to be its senior officers asking for money from prospective recruits in order to be recruited.

The Zambia Correctional Service recently placed a recruitment advert in the print media.

Head of Public Relations Margaret Nawa says it has come to the attention of the Service that some members of the public purporting to be officers in the rank and file of the Zambia Correctional Service are requesting for money from prospective recruits in exchange for a place in the upcoming recruitment exercise.

Ms Nawa says some people were even asked to deposit money into an Airtel/MTN money account.

She says the Zambia Correctional Service is a professional institution; as such the recruitment process is also conducted in a professional manner.

She adds that there is no payment required to be made for an individual to apply for recruitment in the Zambia Correctional Service; stating application for recruitment is absolutely free.

Ms Nawa has since encouraged members of the public to report any person requesting for money in exchange for a place in the upcoming recruitment exercise.
