Chief Mukobela of the Ila speaking people in Namwala district is optimistic that the 2018 marketing season will be good for farmers in his chiefdom.
The traditional leader has told Q-news that farmers in his area already have a ready market for their produce even from ordinary people in the neighboring chiefdoms.
He explains that people in neighboring chiefdoms have already indicated their intention to purchase maize from framers in his chiefdom for consumption as they did not produce enough in their own areas.
Chief Mukobela has since advised framers in his chiefdom not to sell their produce at low prices and end up losing out.
