The Zambia Direct Democracy Movement (ZDDM) has expressed concern that some Chinese briefcase buyers have gone on rampage buying crops from farmers at a low price.

ZDDM Vice President Charles Kafumbo says his party is aware that some Chinese briefcase buyers have gone into rural areas where they are buying crops such as Soya Beans as low as K3.00 per kg.

Mr. Kafumbo says farmers should not be exploited year in, year out.

He says it is important that farmers yield maximum profits from their sweat by selling their soya beans at a profitable price of not less than K5.00 per kg.

Mr. Kafumbo has since appealed to small scale farmers to reject the low prices they are being offered for their produce.
