Government says it recognizes investment as an important vehicle for creating growth and wealth in Zambia.
Commerce, Trade and Industry Minister, Margaret Mwanakatwe says this explains why her Ministry has developed the Investment Promotion Strategy.
Ms. Mwanakatwe notes that this is the strategy that in fact envisions Zambia as a competitive and preferred investment destination by 2021.
She states that government intends to achieve this through mobilizing and increasing actualized investments.
Ms. Mwanakatwe says in addition to this, her Ministry has developed a National Industrial Policy whose thrust is industrialization through value addition to local raw materials and citizen participation.
The Minister said this when she open the 2nd Zambia Public Private Dialogue meeting organized by the COMESA Business Council in Lusaka this morning.
The meeting is being held under the theme Bringing Business to The Table-Collaboration for Growth.
