SACCORD urges thorough sensitization on ICC

Government has been advised against taking a pre-conceived position in consultations on whether Zambia should withdraw from the International Criminal Court (ICC) or not.

Southern African Center for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (SACCORD) Executive Director Boniface Cheembe says what people need to know in Zambia is the importance of the ICC.

Mr. Cheembe says this is what his organization thinks Zambians should be thoroughly sensitized on.

He has told QTV News that people in the Country need to know why the ICC was formed.

Mr. Cheembe says this is in order that they make the right decision in the ongoing consultations on whether Zambia should pull out from the ICC or not.

He states that the decision and wishes of the Zambian people should be respected whether they decide that Zambia withdraws from the ICC or not.
