NAQEZ counsels Kaingu, Phiri

The National Action for Quality Education in Zambia (NAQEZ) has called on High Education Minister Michael Kaingu to put his house in order and address the many challenges his Ministry is facing

NAQEZ Executive Director Aaron Chansa says NAQEZ wants Dr. Kaingu to sort out most of the problems which have affected the smooth running of higher learning institutions in the Country.

Mr. Chansa says this is because these are the institutions that provide the Country with the required human resource.

He has advised Dr. Kaingu to consider the introduction of students’ loans to replace students’ bursaries.

Mr. Chansa states that NAQEZ also wants to see expedition of the construction of hostels at higher learning institutions.

He says government should further start thinking of constructing a University in each of the remaining provinces that do have a University.

And Mr. Chansa has also urged General Education Minister John Phiri to equally seriously look into issue of teacher pupil ration in s schools.

Mr. Chansa says there is need to increase the number of teachers being recruited every year.
