Govt urged to be proactive in dealing with hunger crisis

Government has been advised to be proactive whenever any part of Country is reported to have been stricken by a hunger crisis.

Kazungula Nyawa Ward Councilor Elias Siamibila has advised government not to wait until the situation becomes worse for it respond to the crisis.

Mr. Siamibila thinks that had government distributed relief maize in Kazungula in August when hunger was reported to have stricken the area people would have not resorted to eating wild fruits.

He has told Qfm News that he is however happy that government has now responded to his call of the escalated levels of hunger in his District by giving it 30 metric tons of relief maize.

Mr. Siamibila has however advised government to look at addressing the issue of rationing the relief maize according to the need of each area in the District.
