Lifuka foresees problem in fight against graft in 2016

Absence of a law that compels disclosure of political party campaign financing has been cited as one of the problems that will be faced in the fight against corruption during the 2016 general elections.

Former Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) President Rueben Lifuka has observed that election campaign financing poses as one of the grey areas which becomes an easy conduit for corruption and bribery.

Mr. Lifuka is if the view that if President Edgar Lungu was really serious about setting the right tone in the fight against corruption he should have by now pushed for the enactment of a law that regulates election campaign financing.

In an interview with Qfm News Mr. Lifuka states that this law should also ensure that those that receive public or private funding do not mortgage the Country just to get in office.
